Player Development

Our player development programme offers high-quality training for players with prior knowledge and experience of the game who wish to improve their skills and game awareness.

The programme, designed by UEFA-qualified coaches, is aimed at both boys and girls from the age of 8. The comprehensive training plan covers both the technical and tactical aspects of the game, with the goal of developing more confident and versatile football players who have a solid foundation to reach their full potential. It encourages creativity and the holistic development of the player, while also providing them with the opportunity to take responsibility for their own learning.

We want players to get the most out of our development programme, and we recommend that participants are:

  • Enthusiastic and enjoy playing football.
  • Eager to learn new skills or build on their existing abilities.

Within each age group, we strive to organise teams based on player ability wherever possible. The goal is to place each player at an appropriate level in a balanced team with a small number of players.

  • 3 vs 3: Ages 5–7
  • 5 vs 5: Ages 8–9
  • 7 vs 7: Ages 10–12
  • 9 vs 9: Age 13–14
  • 11 v 11: Ages 15–19

White, Children (8–12 years), Youth (1319 years)
For those with a good level of football who want to further develop their game. At this level, while overall development remains a priority, greater emphasis is placed on results, while still keeping in mind that this is grassroots football. Depending on age, players should have primary and secondary positions, and playing time will be distributed equally or for at least half of each match during the season. Players will receive quarter digital Individual Development Plans (IDP) to inform them of their strengths and areas for growth. Players who excel may be recommended for Red.

  • By invitation/tryouts only.
  • 2-3 training sessions per week (depending on age).
  • Full fixture programme plus two additional tournaments.

Red, Children (9–12 years), Youth (13–19 years)
For players with advanced level of football who want to take their game further. While we place inclusion and participation at the core of everything we do, we also provide a pathway for those who wish to take their football more seriously. Depending on age, players should have primary and secondary positions, and playing time will be distributed equally or for at least half of each match during the season.  Players will receive bi-monthly individual development plans (IDP) plus quarter personal meetings to discuss their progress.

  • By invitation/tryouts only.
  • 3-4 training sessions per week (depending on age).
  • Fixture programme against other similar advanced teams, as well as tournaments and additional matches.

At KBK we recognise that every player’s journey is unique. We provide a positive environment where young athletes are supported and empowered to grow at their own pace.
Guided by our Model – which addresses the technical, tactical, cognitive, physical, psychological, and social aspects of the game – our goal is to deliver the right experiences at the right time to help each player reach their full footballing potential

Our development pathway is divided into three phases:

8–10 years: Emphasis is placed on ball mastery, 1v1 skills, and building confidence, all with the aim of nurturing a lifelong love for the game.

11–14 years: Focus shifts towards tactical understanding, psychological growth, and social development, while continuing to refine technical ability through varied formats and competitive opportunities.

15 + years: Prepares players for the demands of senior-level football, with a focus on performance, professionalism, and personal responsibility.

Through focused skill development, personalised progression pathways, and age-appropriate competition, we aim to unlock every individual’s potential—developing not just better footballers, but more resilient, confident, and well-rounded individuals.

All White and Red level players will gain access to a dedicated online classroom, providing valuable resources such as videos, reviews, and matchday feedback. This digital platform helps players stay informed, prepared, and connected with their coaches and team goals.

In addition, we share regular information designed to support each player's overall health and wellbeing. This holistic approach focuses on four key pillars:

  • Move well
  • Eat well
  • Sleep well
  • Think well

Together, these elements help nurture not only better athletes, but healthier, more balanced individuals.

Our Player Development programme is much bigger than just getting players into professional clubs and academies. We look to create unforgettable experiences through fixtures and tournaments and look to develop and improve their overall game. We strive for excellence and no talented young player will ever be turned away for financial reasons.
